Beverley Sutherland-Lewis is a former Journalist, Administrator, Assistant Lecturer and Social Advocate.

Her employment in Jamaica spanned the government and private Sector, and her tenure at the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Jamaica.

Beverley has extensive experience in journalism and public Relations. She served as the Caribbean Regional Director of the Rome-based News Agency, InterPress Service (IPS), where she guided a team of Caribbean journalists, in the production of hard news and features for dissemination across the world.

Her skills gained helped her in the task of editing academic publications. She also worked as an editorial team member with a publishing house in the U.S.

Beverley, who is known for her strong planning and logistical skills, coordinated several academic and cultural conferences and scholarship programmes while in the role of Administrator in the office of the UWI campus Principal.

A graduate of the UWI, Mona Campus, she completed a BA, MSc and Diploma programmes in Communications and Sociology.
